0:49 Soulframe is playable only on PC (Windows), through Digital Extremes' own launcher at soulframe.com, as of Oct 21, 2026; it is not on PS5, Xbox, Switch or Mac, and it cannot be played through Steam yet. Digital Extremes' FAQ says "Preludes is PC-only for now" and that consoles will come "eventually", likely with "a fuller release rather than during Preludes". CEO Steve Sinclair said the same in the Founders FAQ video of Nov 19, 2025: "we're not ready to go to console yet", and when Soulframe reaches a new console platform, Founders will open again "for a little window" for those players. Quick facts

PC and the soulframe.com launcher

Soulframe runs on Windows PCs and is downloaded only from soulframe.com. The FAQ explains why: "For now, Preludes is only available through https://www.soulframe.com so we can iterate quickly. We do plan to broaden access in the future, but not before it is ready." A player signs up, receives an invite (or buys a Founders bundle for instant access), logs in and downloads the launcher from the download page. The hardware needed is on System Requirements.

Open Preludes, announced on Oct 15, 2026, keeps the same route: "anyone who wants to experience Soulframe on PC can sign up at soulframe.com, download the launcher, and begin their journey into Midrath." It names no other platform and no start date; Digital Extremes said more would come at Devstream 18 on Oct 30, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Steam

4:42 Soulframe has a Steam store page (app 4095380) that players can wishlist, but the game cannot be downloaded or played through Steam, as of Oct 21, 2026. The page went live with Founders and Preludes 12 in Nov 2025, and community manager Sarah Asselin told viewers of Devstream 12 (Jan 30, 2026) that they could "now wish list Soul Frame on Steam" to be notified "down the line", adding that wishlists help Digital Extremes promote the game. Steam shows "Coming soon", lists it as free to play, and has no packages and no player counts. On Oct 20, 2026, Soulframe stood 13th on Steam's Top Wishlisted list in the US store, and PC Gamer counted it 14th of Steam's 20 most-wishlisted games on Oct 2, 2026.

1:04:02 A Steam release is the plan, with no date. Asked during Envoy Hour 6 on Nov 5, 2025 whether the game would be listed on Steam, the hosts answered "Yes, that's the hope and dream" and "Stay tuned"; the store page followed that month. Digital Extremes' press releases still close with the line that players can wishlist on Steam and "follow its journey toward a wider PC launch".

2:10 Purchases are not on Steam either. In the Founders FAQ video Sinclair said the first Founders offer would be sold "just through soulframe.com", and the Founders page still says it is "only available for purchase on PC through" soulframe.com. Epic Games Store

Soulframe has no Epic Games Store listing, as of Oct 21, 2026. The FAQ answers "When will Preludes come to a PC storefront like Steam or Epic Games Store?" with the soulframe.com line above, so Epic is a possibility Digital Extremes has named, not a plan it has announced.

PS5, Xbox and Switch

Consoles are planned, but Digital Extremes has not named one or given a date, as of Oct 21, 2026. Its words are "We plan to bring Soulframe to consoles eventually", likely with a fuller release, and the Founders page promises that "a version of Soulframe Founders will reopen for a time-limited window on new platforms when the time comes". PS5 and Xbox Series X|S appear in press reports such as Inven Global's (Jul 11, 2026) and on Wikipedia, not in a Digital Extremes statement. There is no PlayStation Store, Xbox store or Nintendo eShop page for Soulframe. Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 have never been mentioned.

Steam Deck

Valve has not rated Soulframe for Steam Deck, since there is no Steam build. Steam Deck HQ installed the soulframe.com version as a non-Steam game in Dec 2025 and called it "nigh-on unplayable" on the default settings, but reached about 40 fps after lowering settings and using FSR 2.2 upscaling. That is one outlet's test of a pre-alpha build, not an official result.

Mac and Linux

There is no Mac or Linux version. Steam lists Windows only, with Mac and Linux both marked unsupported, and the launcher at soulframe.com is a Windows download. Digital Extremes has not announced plans for either, as of Oct 21, 2026.

Crossplay and cross-save

Crossplay and cross-save have not been announced, as of Oct 21, 2026. With one platform there is nothing to cross yet: every Envoy plays on PC, and co-op parties of up to four join on the same servers (Co-op and Multiplayer). Whether console players will share worlds or progress with PC players is not known.
