Characters

Soulframe's named characters include the Envoy (you), Grandfather Doyen, the Nightfold's Ancestors (Verminia the Rat Witch, the blacksmith Tuvalkane, Orlick the Bicameral), Empress Alora of Eldveil, the Wylds and the rival Envoy Tempest Bayor. Announced voices are Jennifer English (Alora), Ben Starr (Bayor), Kim Bonifay (Verminia) and Dan Pye (Avakot).

Soulframe's named characters are the Envoy you play, Grandfather Doyen from the Envoy's childhood, the Ancestors who share the Nightfold with you (Verminia the Rat Witch, the blacksmith Tuvalkane, Orlick the Bicameral and others), Empress Alora of Eldveil, ruler of the Fey, the Fey champions called the Wylds, the Omen Beasts, and on the other side Synod of the Ode and the rival Envoy Tempest Bayor. Digital Extremes has announced four voice actors: Jennifer English as Empress Alora, Ben Starr as Tempest Bayor, Kim Bonifay as Verminia and Dan Pye as Avakot (Jun 25, 2026). At the TennoCon 2026 Devstream (Jul 11, 2026), the panel shows concept art labeled "Empress of Eldveil": a blue-skinned figure in long blue and gold robes with a tall golden headdress and a staff, then a painted figure of her seated. As of Oct 21, 2026 the cast is still growing: Soulframe is in Preludes, its pre-alpha, and the Warsongs Fable that introduces Bayor and the Empress in play is not out yet.

Old wooden barrels and broad leaves sit to its left, and rocks and trees fill the sunlit background. No game interface is shown.

The Envoy

The Envoy is you: a customizable hero of "ancient Fey blood" washed ashore on Midrath (Steam, read Oct 21, 2026). The Envoy's story begins with family. In the 2024 build, character creation began with the Envoy's mother holding her newborn (CGMagazine, Jul 24, 2024), and "Your choices during the Warsongs Prologue will decide your starting visage" (soulframe.com, Feb 12, 2026). Each Envoy wears a Pact arm granted by an Omen Beast; Tempest Bayor's red one is called rare. The Envoy's past is the subject of Warsongs; the plot is on Story.

Grandfather Doyen

Doyen is the Envoy's grandfather. Digital Extremes' TennoCon 2026 release promises a story memory of "lakeside fishing with Grandfather Doyen" (Digital Extremes, Jul 14, 2026), and the recap: "Venture back to memories of your past childhood with Doyen" (soulframe.com, Jul 11, 2026). Official texts call the Envoy "Minnow" ("Set your spirithooks and cast away, Minnow!"), without saying who speaks. New Envoys walk from the shore to "Grandfa's hut" (soulframe.com, Nov 16, 2025); that Grandfa is Doyen is likely but not stated. Fishing itself is on Fishing.

Verminia, the Rat Witch

Verminia is the Rat Witch and the Brewer of Hues, an Ancestor in the Nightfold who changes how your Envoy looks. In Devstream 12 (Jan 30, 2026) the team shows "more customization coming to Verminia": "you will now be able to alter your appearance through Verminia in terms of complexion, facial features, and hair", based on "the choices you made with mom" in the tutorial. She also sells dyes and elixirs and brews The Cogah, the hard-mode elixir. Her Fable, The Brewer of Hues, follows her poppets, her "very own mischief" of flying rat creatures (soulframe.com, Jul 11, 2026). Kim Bonifay voices her. A 2024 release called her "A new Ancestor and Omen Beast of the Nightfold family" (GamesPress, Jul 20, 2024); Digital Extremes' newer texts call her the Rat Witch, an Ancestor.

Tuvalkane, Orlick and the other Ancestors

Tuvalkane is the Nightfold's blacksmith: since Preludes 16 you dismantle old weapons and "retune them with the blacksmith Tuvalkane" (Digital Extremes, Sep 18, 2026). Digital Extremes also writes her name "Tuvulkane"; its newest texts use Tuvalkane. Her work is on Tempers and Crafting.

Orlick the Bicameral is "the dearly departed historian", who since Preludes 14 ranks up as you complete Spectral Sight tasks (soulframe.com, Apr 17, 2026). Mestra Carmo is the Ancestor behind the Duelo Pact, met in The Wreck of Mestra Carmo. Steelsinger Kane invented Moonsteel Thread (soulframe.com, read Oct 21, 2026). Zenith, a "dale seer camel", sells wares in the Nightfold (Digital Extremes, Nov 26, 2025). Avakot, a sproutling guide voiced by Dan Pye, has been with the game since the 2023 demo. Where they live is on The Nightfold.

Empress Alora of Eldveil

Alora, the Empress of Eldveil, rules the Fey. Digital Extremes describes her as "Ruler of the ancient race of Fey with the same moral compass as nature itself: whim. Song is the source of her power" (soulframe.com, Nov 16, 2025). In Devstream 15 (May 29, 2026) the hosts introduce "award-winning voice actress Jennifer English, the voice of Empress" Alora, who joined the TennoCon panel. Digital Extremes' TennoCon release calls Warsongs "her first in-game appearance" and says that about Bayor she "seems to know more…" (Digital Extremes, Jul 14, 2026). One 2025 post printed her name "Aurora"; every later text says Alora, as do Founders' "Alora's Royal Dyes".

The Wylds

The Wylds are Fey champions whose Pacts are sold in the Founders bundles: Wyld Tethren, a Courage champion; Wyld Sirin, a "Fey assassin"; and Wyld Oscelda, "a Fey healer so renowned in the garden of Eldveil" (soulframe.com, read Oct 21, 2026). Their Pacts return after Founders closes. See Founders Packs.

Tempest Bayor

Tempest Bayor is a rival Envoy who serves the Ode. Digital Extremes: "As a rare red-armed Envoy, he aligns himself with the invading Ode forces with the support of his faithful raven companion. His motivations are unknown" (Digital Extremes, Jul 14, 2026). The TennoLive 2026 teaser (Jul 4, 2026) dwells on a bearded man, tearful, whose arm is marked in red, sitting in a stone room until a dark bird flies in through a bright doorway. Bayor arrives in the Warsongs Fable, promised for fall 2026 and not out as of Oct 21, 2026; the recap's demo line is "Meet Bayor, an Envoy like yourself but sworn to Synod and the Ode" (soulframe.com, Jul 11, 2026).

Ben Starr voices him. In Devstream 15 the hosts tease "a pivot with where the story went" for "an existing character" and bring on Starr, who jokes that he finally wore the studio down: "I am in Soulframe and I won't apologize for it." Starr, Warframe's Arthur, also sings "Silver Eyes", the Warsongs duet with Lorelei Marcell (soulframe.com, Jul 28, 2026); see Music.

Synod and Medis Gyon

Synod is "the Ode'n lord", named only in item texts and announcements so far. Medis Gyon is the Ode's "plague doctor of the stars", inventor of The Organ (soulframe.com, Mar 8, 2026). Both are on The Ode; the beasts are on Omen Beasts.
