Fables and Quests

0:15 Soulframe's story quests are called Fables, and as of Oct 21, 2026 Digital Extremes has named these: the Warsongs Prologue that opens the game, The Shewolf Snared, The Brewer of Hues, The Waste Bear, The Steelsinger and The Wreck of Mestra Carmo, with a new Fable, Warsongs, announced for fall 2026. Each one frees an Ancestor or an Omen Beast and usually grants a Pact. Around them sit smaller quests: Faction Tales taken from task boards at World Trees, Votives, Siege assaults on Ode keeps, The Organ, and seasonal festivals. Digital Extremes' TennoCon 2025 spotlight on The Waste Bear shows what a Fable looks like: the words "Drink for family" on black, the Envoy hanging upside down in a tangle of roots before two bears, fights through green-lit root caves, and a huge corrupted bear at the end.

Fables

Fables are Soulframe's main story quests, each a chapter about one Ancestor or Omen Beast. Digital Extremes has not published a full Fable order, but some steps are fixed: the Warsongs Prologue comes first, The Brewer of Hues opens Verminia's station in The Nightfold, and "Complete The Steelsinger to begin The Wreck of Mestra Carmo" (Digital Extremes, Apr 17, 2026). The story they tell is on Story; this page lists the quests and their rewards, not walkthroughs.

Warsongs Prologue

The Warsongs Prologue is the opening Fable, in which you wash ashore on Midrath and make your Envoy. "Your choices during the Warsongs Prologue will decide your starting visage" (Digital Extremes, Feb 12, 2026), and since Preludes 12 new Envoys follow the Sparrow from the shore to Grandfa's hut and on to the first World Tree (Digital Extremes, Nov 16, 2025). The Shewolf Snared

25:10 The Shewolf Snared is the Fable of Orengall, the Omen Shewolf, added in Preludes 8 (Jan 22, 2025) with her Pact. In Envoy Hour #6 (Nov 5, 2025) Sarah Asselin explains how it begins: you have to find Orengall, and also find a note, then look for "these mysterious red lanterns".

1:04:46 The Fable is about rescuing Orengall's pups from Ode cages, and finishing it gives you one. Asselin says the stream has "shown you how to begin this fable, the She Wolf's Snared, if you want to rescue Orengall's pups" and "end up with your very own". Since Preludes 16 that pup is a companion you raise toward a mount; see Wolf Pup and Mounts.

The Brewer of Hues

The Brewer of Hues is Verminia's Fable. You follow her poppets, and finishing it opens her station in the Nightfold, where "further customization can be done" (Digital Extremes, Feb 12, 2026). Verminia, "the Rat Witch", is on Characters.

The Waste Bear

7:59 The Waste Bear, in full "The Fable of the Arbearer Bromius", came with Preludes 11 on Oct 8, 2025 after its debut at TennoCon 2025. In Devstream 9 (Sep 12, 2025) the hosts call its music "a real tearjerker" and announce that its "Song of Waste" was out on YouTube; the soundtrack is on Music. Digital Extremes' summary: "A poppet pulls you into Verminia's cauldron... and a sap-dream of a three-headed bear, dying trees, and a seed that won't grow" (Digital Extremes, Oct 8, 2025).

52:54 Its rewards reach across the island. The Fable grants the Bromius Pact, and in Devstream 9 a developer explains that the Neath'uns, the root-caves seen in its puzzles, become "a tile set which you can go to after you complete the fable", with "different entrances throughout the world". Since Preludes 12 it also unlocks fast travel: "Wevetseeds grow after The Waste Bear" (Digital Extremes, Nov 26, 2025).

The Steelsinger

The Steelsinger is the step before The Wreck of Mestra Carmo. It is named for an Ancestor whose theme, "Steelsinger", is on the Ancestor Themes EP (Digital Extremes, Dec 1, 2025), and Digital Extremes credits Steelsinger Kane with inventing Moonsteel Thread (Founders). Digital Extremes has not published a summary of the Fable as of Oct 21, 2026.

The Wreck of Mestra Carmo

0:06 The Wreck of Mestra Carmo arrived with Preludes 14: The Duelo on Apr 17, 2026. Its teaser lingers on a wrecked ship beached among pines, a sword driven into the sand beside it, then shows an armored figure seated on the wreck and later standing on a ship's deck at sea. In the Fable you "Seek out shipwrecks dotted across Midrath's coast and collect ribbons", have Tuvalkane tie them into the Duelo Bow, and survive the duels "to see Mestra Carmo return to the Silvern Sea and receive the Fragment to craft the Duelo Pact and signature Navalha Long Blade" (Digital Extremes, Apr 17, 2026). The Pact is on Pacts and the blade on Weapons.

Warsongs (coming)

0:07 Warsongs is the next Fable, announced at TennoCon 2026 and not playable as of Oct 21, 2026. Digital Extremes calls it "A Fable [told] across time and a lost history of you, Envoy" that will lay out "where you came from, and what is at stake" (Digital Extremes, Jul 11, 2026), and promised it "later this Fall" (Digital Extremes, Jul 14, 2026). Its trailer shows an armored figure walking through a burning, smoking battlefield, then close faces in firelight and dark shapes floating in a pale sky. It introduces Tempest Bayor, an Envoy sworn to Synod and the Ode, and the Vadagar Pact; everything known is on Warsongs.

Faction Tales and task boards

42:43 Faction Tales are side quests for your Enclave, and since Preludes 13 you choose them from boards. In Devstream 12 (Jan 30, 2026) the team shows the new boards at World Trees "all throughout Midrath", offering "a clear, more deliberate way to take on tasks", including Sieges and other jobs, so players no longer wait for a Tale to start nearby. On the boards you can "Accept Faction Tales directly affiliated with Alca, and not just your chosen Enclave" and "See the challenge tier of a Faction Tale at a mere glance" (Digital Extremes, Feb 1, 2026). Standing with an Enclave is still earned in the Enclave itself; see Enclaves.

Votives

Votives are short tasks, given in Votive Tales by members of your Enclave. Since a February 2026 hotfix, "Aligned Enclave members have returned and now appear nearby upon completing a Votive Tale! Speak with them to accept new Votives, rather than needing to run to the nearest World Tree" (Digital Extremes, Feb 26, 2026). Preludes 14 added 5 new Mini-Quests and updated Votives.

Sieges

52:26 Sieges are assaults on fortresses the Ode hold, in waves of enemies, playable with a party; they began in Preludes 12. In Devstream 15 (May 29, 2026) a developer explains that hazards and "enemy composition will change, so you can run a siege and see different things and get different rewards", rather than "the same thing in the same positions all the time". The Sieges named as of Oct 21, 2026:

• Fort Curlail, whose rewards included Virtue Liths in Preludes 14.5 (since replaced).
• Mirifuir, "this northern keep" held by the Ode'n Conductors, from Preludes 14; it can reward Fragments for the Espadarte Long Blade and the Silistavf Magick weapon (Digital Extremes, Apr 17, 2026).
• Turret Jotar, from Preludes 15, with "new randomized objectives, hazards and enemy compositions" (Digital Extremes, Jun 2, 2026).

Playing them with friends is on Co-op and Multiplayer.

The Organ

51:02 The Organ is a Preludes 13 objective inside Faction Tales. Devstream 12 introduces it as a new mode: "a massive polluter machine built upon a Dendrit tower", overseen by Medis Gyon, "a plague doctor of the stars", pumping Ichor through "iron arteries", whose "beating heart" you must destroy "so that Alca can breathe again". The music heard at the stream's start comes from it. Digital Extremes' summary: you "destroy Medis Gyon's machinations as a new objective within Faction Tales" (Digital Extremes, Feb 12, 2026).

Festivals

19:31 Festivals are limited-time events with their own crafting. In Envoy Hour #6 (Nov 5, 2025) Asselin walks through Bita's Eve: Fragments drop from scarecrows, Crone Cucurbita's in the central west of the map, Papa Pepo's in the north and Lil' Zuck's in the south, and smashing pumpkins gives Winter Squash seeds, which the masks are crafted from. Digital Extremes' post: "patrol the lands in search of suspicious patches of Wintersquash, minded by a scarecrow keeper", then have Tuvalkane forge the masks in the Nightfold (Digital Extremes, Oct 29, 2025).

• Festival of the Circade (Preludes 10, May 2025): "A king stirs from the Ichor-grave", with the Crypt of the Circade and the Mendicant King (Digital Extremes, May 26, 2025).
• Bita's Eve (autumn, 2024 and 2025), Crone Cucurbita's festival.
• Thawtide (winter, Dec 16, 2025 to Jan 30, 2026), a Dendrit tradition with Cardinal rewards (Digital Extremes, Dec 16, 2025).

What order do Soulframe's Fables go in? What are Votives in Soulframe? Votives are Soulframe's short side tasks from your Enclave; after a Votive Tale, members of your Enclave appear nearby to give new Votives.

What are Sieges in Soulframe? Sieges are Soulframe's fortress assaults against waves of the Ode at Fort Curlail, Mirifuir and Turret Jotar, with objectives, hazards and enemies that change between runs since Preludes 15.

When does Warsongs come out? Digital Extremes promised Soulframe's Warsongs Fable "later this Fall" (2026) and has not given a date as of Oct 21, 2026.
